The IBD Research foundation management board recently decided to launch its 2012 grant program on 19 May, World IBD day. Again we will make available three grants of 5000,- euro each for IBD related research projects.
Among other things we will publish our updated documents such as the application criteria, procedures and planning. Then we will invite researchers to apply for a grant, by generating the required publicity.

Crohn’s and Colitis and Employment: From career aspirations to reality

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is marking World IBD Day 2011 by launching a report on “Crohn’s and Colitis and Employment: From career aspirations to reality’ in the UK Parliament.New research has found that 68% of people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) feel that they have little or no control over their working conditions and a third receive minimal or no support from their employer. Crohn’s and Colitis UK is calling for greater understanding and action by policy makers, patients, employer sand the UK Health Service to improve health and employment support for people living and working with IBD.

Angela McAvoy Fellowship Progress Report

LAST year CCA awarded the inuagural $150,000 Angela McAvoy Fellowship to Dr Antonina Mikocka-Walus for her research study, Does cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) improve psychological and/or clinical outcomes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)? A pilot randomised control trial. Here Dr Mikocka-Walus provides an update on her study.
